Phytopet probiotic concentrate 100g
keeps your pet healthy from the inside out.
Phytopet probiotic concentrate is made up of SC1-1077 live yeast probiotic. this is a patented form of Saccharomyces cerevislae and Chicory inulin.
Oxygen scavenging.
The SC1-1077 live yeast probiotic is primarily used to ensure complete and efficient digestion. This maximizes nutrient uptake for the animals benefit. It does this by promoting growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. This aids the breakdown of nutrients.
When the yeast transits from the stomach into the gut it continues to scavenge oxygen.. This promotes an anaerobic environment which is favoured by the digestive bacteria . This helps maintain an optimal population of these bacteria ensuring complete fermentation of the animals diet. This in turn reduces incidences of flatulence , diarrhoea, and other common digestive disorders.
Competitive Exclusion of Harmful Bacteria.
The yeast also works by competitively exluding potential harmful bacteria. Harmful pathogenic bacteria will attach themselves to the yeast cell to consume it. Once attached they are unable to detach and so are carried out of the body in the faecal stream. This process naturally limits the adverse effects of these bacteria in the host animal.
Immune System Stimulation
The presence of live yeast in an animal has been proven to stimulate the anti immune response of the creature. This makes your pet more robust and resistant to disease.
Promotion of Beneficial Bacteria
The yeast encourages the reproductive activity of fibre fermenting {cellulolytic} bacteria and lactate scavenging bacteria. This creates and maintains the acidic environment in the gut. This helps to reduce incidences of inappropriate fermentation which can lead to digestive disorders.
Chicory Inulin
This is a type of dietary fibre that comes from the chicory plant. its classified as a prebiotic. This means it feeds the beneficial bacteria (probiotics) in the gut.
How it works.
Feeds beneficial bacteria. Inulin is a type of soluble fibre that bodies cannot digest. However it serves as a food for the beneficial bacteria in the gut. These bacteria convert inulin and other prebiotics into short chain fatty acids. These in turn nourish colon cells and provide various other health benefits.
Improves Digestion
Inulin can help improve degestive health by increasing the frequency of bowel movements and decreasing constipation. It achieves this by increasing the water holding capacity of the stool making it easier to pass.
Boosts Immune System
Beneficial bacteria that feed on inulin not only help digestion but also play a significant role in improving immune system function. They help create a barrier against harmful bacteria which potentially reduces the risks of infections.
Supports Metabolic Health
Some research suggest that inulin may support metabolic health by helping to control blood sugar levels, It does this by slowing absorption of sugar into the bloodstream.
Enhances Mineral Absorption.
Inulin may enhance the absorption of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. This potentially improves bone health
Weight management
Inulin has been linked to weight loss and improved weight management. It is a low calorie carbohydrate and has a filling effect. This can help reduce overall calorie intake.
In terms of its use as probiotic its important to note that inulin itself is not a probiotic but a prebiotic. It supports the function of probiotics by serving as a food source for these beneficial bacteria. When used in combination with probiotics inulin can help these bacteria flourish. This leads to improved gut health.
